The lack of media representation I experienced in childhood fuels my passion for art. While Mexican and Latinx stories have gained visibility in recent years, much work must be done to ensure these narratives thrive and endure. My job is driven by a desire to create art that resonates with younger generations, providing them with relatable stories and characters I longed for in childhood. Through my work, I aim to create primarily entertaining animation projects - captivating audiences with their stories and visuals by exploring cultural themes rooted in folklore and addressing modern issues in the U.S., such as immigration and farmer’s rights. I aim to challenge stereotypes, introduce new perspectives, or bring overlooked stories to the forefront. I enjoy color and vary between using watercolors, gouache, and color pastels. Additionally, I use charcoal as my medium of choice for black-and-white pieces. My drafting process varies: I use pencil and ink, begin with light blue pigment, and finalize my work in pink. The second technique stems from traditional animation, using these colors to make the blue lines disappear when they get scanned.
